The receipt for the hairdressing salon, soon to be finished...

2020 may be the first year in which the receipt will be abolished for amounts less than 10 euros. And maybe we wrote it right, because nothing is insured yet. It is nevertheless a step towards what seems to be the logical continuation of an eco-responsible approach. We'll tell you more...

The end of the receipt for hairdressing salons and beauty salons

The logical continuation of eco-responsible approaches for retailers

Today, the Environmental Code prohibits the single use of plastic bags, cutlery, straws, and plastic cotton swabs... The dematerialized sales receipt is the logical continuation of this approach for many retailers. Thousands of kilometres of paper are wasted, often ending up everywhere except in recycling.

As of February 1, 2020, the receipt for amounts less than 10 euros would no longer be given to customers, except at their explicit request. This trend is practiced in other countries, such as the United States, China and South Korea.

As you very rarely invoice your customers for amounts of less than 10 euros, the year 2020 does not really concern you, but the years 2021 and 2022 will be more interesting for you. The e-ticket will be effective for less than 20 euros from January 1st, 2021 and less than 30 euros from 2022.

In addition, businesses are more and more concerned about getting involved in environmental protection, where the hairdressing sector is seeing more and more opportunities, such as the label Mon Coiffeur s'engage, or Coiffeurs Justes.

The receipt contains substances harmful to health

Bisphenol A, a substance recognised as an endocrine disruptor, is still present in sales receipts despite its ban since 1 January 2015. Sales receipts that no longer contain bisphenol A are marked on the back of the receipt with a note to that effect and contain a substitute substance, bisphenol S. Bisphenol S, which is also recognised as an endocrine disruptor, may be more dangerous than bisphenol A. Endocrine disruptor according to ANSES (Agence Nationale de Sécurité Sanitaire de l'Alimentation, de l'Environnement et du Travail) :

Endocrine disrupters are substances that disrupt the hormonal functioning of living organisms and can thus cause adverse effects on health and the environment.

Bisphenol A penetrates the skin, and according to Santé Magazine, a study has shown that it can lead to infertility, genitourinary malformations, obesity, cancers, etc. We therefore advise you toavoid wrinkling them in your hand before throwing them away, and not to use them as a reminder.

Just so you know...

The strategy of major retail chains, such as Auchan, for example, is to digitize the customer journey. Through the MyAuchan application, consumers can pay with the application, which uses the LyfPay solution, thanks to a barcode scanned at the checkout. All receipts are stored on the MyAuchan application, coupons are automatically deducted and tickets containing an electronic device are kept for 5 years for the device's warranty.

With Wavy, you can send the receipt by email directly to your customer! There is no reason why the dematerialized receipt should not be voted, for the health of your salon, yourself and your employees, your customers and the planet!
