The 5 key steps to move your hairdressing salon with peace of mind

The French consider a move to be the third most stressful event, after a wedding and a bereavement. A move is just as stressful when it comes to your business. We therefore give you the 5 key steps not to forget so that the move of your hair salon, beauty salon or barbershop goes smoothly

1 . Contact the pro number of EDF, Engie, Planète OUI .

When you change premises, you have to change energy contracts. This is because, as the energy supplier site explains, your energy contract corresponds to the needs of your old premises. You therefore need a different contract for your new premises. Contact the pro number ofEDF, Engie, Planète OUI or others. Inform your supplier of this move in order to cancel your old contract and take out a new one.

2 . Commissioning the electricity for your new premises

One very important thing to remember is the electrical commissioning of your new premises. As specified by the energy supplier site, this operation, also known as opening the meter, is what allows your premises tobe supplied with electricity. Without it, the electricity in your new premises will be cut off. So remember to ask for it at least two weeks before you move.

Commissioning is a paying operation carried out by the electricity grid operator Enedis. You should therefore think about it to include it in your budget. The shorter the lead time, the higher the price, hence our recommendation.

3 . Compare quotes from different energy suppliers

Depending on the energy supplier site, energy offers for professionals are often based on quotations and may be subject to commitment periods. It is therefore difficult to easily compare the price of offers to find the cheapest one.

We therefore advise you to ask for quotes from different suppliers and compare them. Once you have chosen your offer, you may not be able to change it (after the withdrawal period) without paying an early cancellation fee. So choose it carefully.

4 . Declaration of change of registered office

The head office depends on the address of your hair salon or beauty salon. If you move your business, you must also change the address of your head office. Therefore, you have to make a change of registered office declaration to attach it to your new address. This declaration is made to the Centre de Formalités des Entreprises (CFE). This procedure is very important legally, do not forget it.

5 . Communicate about the move

Your employees shouldn't be the only ones who know about your company's move. Communicate on social networks or by email about the event. Inform your customers, but also your suppliers, partners and employees. You can even organise an inauguration party to introduce them to your new premises. It's a good way to strengthen your links with these different actors.

The only constant in the universe is change. You have to be ready! Whatever the reason for your move, it is imperative that you work strategically to ensure you retain your customers, keep your staff motivated, and of course, improve the visibility of your hair salon or beauty salon.
