Enter the den of the start-up Wavy

Wavy has been one of the leaders in management and communication solutions in the hair and beauty industry for over 3 years. From 5 to more than 50, the team is constantly growing in its Paris and Lyon offices, and also throughout France. The field sales representatives in the 4 corners of France meet the managers of salons and institutes directly in their premises. At Wavy, the adventure is human, which is why it is important for us to be able to meet our potential customers in person.

A day at Wavy

Through this article, we invite you to discover the Parisian lair of Wavy and the daily life there!

9:30 am: Welcome to the heart of Wavy Family

Following last summer's much-anticipated move to 9 boulevard de la Madeleine, members of Wavy Family now travel between 9:00 and 9:30 am. Formerly in a 130m2 apartment, without a meeting room, glued together, it is now on the top floor of a pretty building in the Madeleine that the teams meet.

Here there are no mouldings, but still parquet flooring and exposed beams, large windows to brighten up our day, and white desks to work studiously. The floor is divided into 4: the noisy part with the sales and customer service, the quiet part with the Product, Marketing and Operational teams, and then (finally!) two meeting rooms.

The product, marketing and operational part of the offices

Customer service trains customers on the application, calls them to ensure a real follow-up, and "kills" a multitude of ancillary tasks such as billing. - Yes, you should also know that we speak a lot of Frenglish in the start-up. The customer service and the product team are not in the same room, but they are very close!

Feedback from customers on the app's functionality is reported directly to our Product Architect, Chris.

Then, in order to make the customer's wishes come true, Chris discusses feedback with the entire product team to set up an agenda of priorities.

At Wavy, all the teams believe in the project and everyone is involved. Everyone helps each other, one may as well give a solution that does not concern his or her missions. We pull ourselves up.

Headphones on the ears to answer customers for some, and to listen to music for others, the atmosphere is (more or less) quiet until 11am. And when 11 o'clock rings, a first shouts "I'm hungry!" and the second answers "Me too!". Then the little break to find out where we're going to eat is necessary. Shall we order? Are we going to the Monop'? Or do we have lunch outside? That decision is made now.

After a few minutes of pause, the sound of the keyboards takes over again.

Coffee n°1, coffee n°2, coffee n°3

The afternoon is filled with coffee, then with hubbub, then with calm, then again with hubbub. The exchanges on Slack, the application we use to exchange information, fuse between looking for solutions, thinking of new ideas, sharing music and, we're not going to lie to each other, some gossips ;) At Wavy, no playroom with PlayStation or babyfoot, as some might think !

At Wavy, we like coffee

Even if more and more procedures are put in place because the company is growing, everyone is free to organise themselves as they wish. Some are rather morning, others rather evening, everyone has their own way of working, their own spike of energy and creativity. The days are never the same, and weekly meetings are organized to ensure communication of information between departments, but also within the same department. (The meeting rooms were so eagerly awaited that 6 months after the move, booking a room is always a pleasure).

"Hey, how about a drink?"

It's inevitable... End-of-the-day pint Wavy . And yes, we do have a pint in our name! Thanks to Adrien who negotiated the prices, the Madeleine district, it's beautiful but not cheap. We can meet there with three or ten people, but you know it as well as we do... It's never just a drink. Often two, or four, or many more. Between colleagues, we talk about everything: our holidays, our weekend, the next seminar, our family, the past sales meeting (when sales people come to Paris), we get to know the newcomers and we regret the departure of the old ones.

Wavy at the aperitif at the Mondial Coiffure Beauté. Some go home by taxi, others by metro and the bravest by bicycle. And we all meet the next day, and often the first question is: "So, did you finish yesterday?
