The digital events of 2020: the cosmoprof, the MCB and the BCD

In order to face the health crisis and the current challenges of the hair and beauty industry, it was necessary to find a way to keep up to date with what's new and to find a way to network. The postponed or cancelled salons then found an alternative solution that was rapidly expanding, digital event management.

Who could have predicted that 2020 would be the year of virtual events? Traditional trade shows have switched to the Internet in the midst of the pandemic, foregoing face-to-face interaction with visitors while retaining opportunities to connect with industry players.

The Mondial Coiffure Beauté (MCB) 2020 by beauté sélection

MCB by Beauté Sélection is an annual salon that offers a unique meeting dedicated to the world of beauty. After cancelling its physical event on 12, 13 & 14 September 2020 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles due to the pandemic, the trade show organisers have launched e.MCB as a digital alternative from 13 to 17 September.

In order to deliver on their promise of an annual event, the organisers confirmed the launch ofa digital platform to facilitate connections and maintain the possibility of engaging in discussion with product and service providers.

In addition to maintaining contact with industry experts and suppliers, participants will also be able to participate in digital conferences and online training

However, exhibitors are looking forward to participating in the 2021 edition of the MCB by BS, in order to really meet, physically, the professionals of the sector.

Digital Hair Beauty (BCD)

In a scenario that imposes limits on travel and physical interaction, our role obliges us to propose alternative solutions in order to boost the beauty and hairdressing sector. In order to do so, Wavy anticipated the release of the confinement in France and launched the Beauté Coiffure Digital (BCD), a 100% digital and 100% free event, which will take place on September 6 and 7 on its website.

The digital format will provide exhibitors and registered visitors to the online event with a virtual environment not only to facilitate networking but also to enable them to access relevant content.

In addition to all this, the BCD will present on the event's homepage a series of conferences led by experts in the sector, aimed at professionals operating in hair salons, beauty salons and barbershops.

WeCOSMOPROF

Originally scheduled from 12 to 16 March, the event for Europe's largest sector was first postponed from 11 to 15 June and then was to have been held from 3 to 7 September in Bologna. But in light of the current coronavirus crisis, the organizer of the BolognaFiere Cosmoprof format has cancelled the 53rd edition, which will now take place in spring 2021, from 18 to 22 March.

The first edition of WeCosmoprof, the digital event for the beauty industry organized by Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna took place from June 4 to 10. The new format was made available to the 3,000 exhibitors registered for the 53rd edition of the event. More than 40,000 visitors from over100 countries also joined the initiative.

The heart of the event was the networking platform, Cosmoprof My Match, which allowed companies, buyers, retailers and distributors to renew relationships with industry players through the implementation of messaging services and virtual rooms for exclusive video calls.


In addition to the "Comsoprof My Match" platform for B2B activities, the CosmoTalks virtual series presented CosmoTalk, a series of webinars that involved more than 50 speakers.
In addition, 15 selected exhibitors presented their new products to WeCosmoprof's virtual audience and more than 6,000 operators attended the live sessions in total.
