Movember: men's health month

Since 2003, an international charity event has been gaining momentum not only among the general public, but also and above all in barbershops and hair salons: Movember. This collective takes action in campaigns throughout November to support the fight against prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.

The "Mo Bros", who proudly wear mustaches, use this iconic symbol to raise awareness and funds for men's health research. You can join the Order of the Moustache by growing your own, and taking on challenges such as walking or running 60 km, organizing events or creating your own initiatives. To take part, you can register directly on the association's website or mobile app.

Nevertheless, as a male hair professional, you can especially take part in Movember in your salon or barbershop. Here are the various initiatives you can put in place:

Offer a free beard trim! ✂️

To kick off the beginning of November, you can offer free beard trimming for any service performed in your salon. It's a great way to show your support for your customers and their business! What's more, it may encourage some to book an appointment during this period to take advantage of the offer and boost your salon's business, while doing a good deed at the same time! Don't forget to publicize this offer if you're running it.

Engage and educate your customers 🧔

When your customers visit your salon, take the initiative and start a conversation. Take this opportunity to raise awareness of the Movember cause, and show them a variety of moustache styles to inspire their next visit. Don't forget to tell them about the Movember app or website, where they can take part if they wish.

Immortalizing the evolution of moustaches 📸‍

During follow-up appointments, offer your customers before-and-after photos to immortalize the transformation of their moustaches. Offer to showcase them on your social networks.

Here's a tip: set up a dedicated area in your salon to offer your customers souvenirs. Make sure you have their consent to display images in your establishment!

Communicate on social networks 📱‍

Use your social networks to raise awareness of Movember in your community, highlighting the evolution of your customers' moustaches.

Don't hesitate to share hard-hitting data, statistics and inspiring testimonials to enlighten your subscribers about men's health issues.

Organize a kitty 💰‍

Propose a solidarity contribution and inform your customers at the time of payment. You can set up the collection at your counter or online. If you'd rather avoid an over-the-counter kitty, simply display a QR code in your salon, which customers can scan at their convenience to access the collection.

On your website, create a dedicated section to raise awareness and collect donations throughout the month of November. And be sure to share this initiative on your various platforms.

Offer Movember products 💈‍

Offer Movember sharing products in your salon: the aim is to donate part of your profits from the sale of these products to a men's health association of your choice. You can tell your customers that part of their purchase will be donated to Movember, and that they're doing a good deed!

For example, on Wavy Store , we are launching a special offer dedicated to Movember: €1 per order will be donated, via the Fondation de France, to an association working for men's health throughout the month of November.

To encourage you to take part in Movember with us, we are offering you an extra 10% off a selection of barber brands on the Movember website. Wavy Store American Crew, Reuzel, F*cking Barber, Man's Beard, Barbury's, Wahl, Moser and Seb Man*.

Simply add the code MOVEMBER10 at checkout!

The donation is 100% at our expense, the amount of your order will not be affected.

For many years, the Movember initiative has had a considerable impact, funding over 1,250 men's health projects worldwide. Every action, however symbolic, helps to raise awareness of men's health issues and raise funds for research.

Join the movement by downloading the Movember app or visiting the website https://fr.movember.com/

*Cannot be combined with other current offers.
