ParentalAct : Wavy is committed to equality between men and women.

More equality between women and men. It is with this objective in mind that on February 5th, 105 companies committed themselves by launching the "ParentalAct" relayed by a tribune in Les Echos . Wavy is now proud to join them and participate in making things happen!

What is the Parental Act?

The purpose of the Parental Act is clear! To grant a one month leave of absence, 100% paid to the second parent. More than a hundred companies that want to move things forward have already signed up to this scheme, including Blablacar, My Little Paris, Too Good To Go, Yuka and Leetchi.

Specifically:

  • It is about the second parent, regardless of gender and status, because our society is changing and family patterns are as varied as they are rich and diverse.
  • This scheme will be for a period of at least 4 weeks, as we believe that this is the minimum period of time needed to take in a child and to establish balanced and fair family habits'.
  • 'This scheme will be paid at 100% because it is important that financial means are not a determining factor in being a stay-at-home parent'.
  • It is up to the management team to encourage the company's employees to take this leave. So that it is neither taboo nor discriminatory to take parental leave'.'

Why does Wavy support this movement?

French legislation on the subject has not changed since the early 2000s and the current provisions continue to focus on women, whereas in many European countries the extension of paternity has long been a topical issue (Spain is the latest example). In April 2019 they extended paternity leave to 8 weeks).

In the absence of the State, it is therefore essential for companies to take responsibility in order to make progress on these social issues. Equality between women and men is a key issue at Wavy, even if we can and must do better.

By signing this Parental Act, we continue to make this commitment.

Because allowing this 2nd parent leave is to allow a commitment and a strong and lasting "child/second parent" relationship. It logically results in a rebalanced mental burden between the two parents when today this burden rests essentially on the mother.

You too join the movement! => https://www.parentalact.com/fr

And congratulations to Augustin, who will be the first to be able to benefit from this Parental Act at Wavy to take full care of his little darling who will soon be pointing his nose! ❤️👶
