How do you get started on TikTok when you are a hair or beauty salon?

  • Add a video

You can film directly from the application. Once you're logged in, all you have to do is press the '+' sign at the bottom of the screen to access the camera. As with all applications, simply hold your finger on the red button to start recording your video. To stop recording, simply release it. You can restart and stop recording multiple times in the same video to capture different scenes or create a jerky effect.

If you have filmed from your phone, you can import the video directly. To do this, click on "Upload" at the bottom right of your screen. This will give you access to your personal gallery.

  • Add music

Once your images are embedded, just click on "next". Wait a few minutes and TikTok will automatically suggest music and editing based on the videos you have selected. 

However, you are completely free to change if you are not satisfied with TikTok's proposal. For music, you just have to click on "sounds", two columns will appear "Recommended" and "Favourites". In your favourites you will find the videos you have recorded while watching other videos. The "Recommended" section is really useful because it lists the current trends. The more you follow the trends of the application, the more users will see your video.

  • Change what you want

In addition to the music, you can edit the video and the editing. In the "effects" section you will have a number of filters that will beautify your video. If you want to go further, you can add transitions or stickers and even text. It is even possible to add a voice-over over your video to comment on it.

  • Publish your video

Once your video is ready, all you have to do is add a description, hashtags, and mention accounts.

The "for you" is the news feed that targets videos that are likely to be of interest to you, based on your interests but also on the engagement of the platform's users. The news feed is also influenced by current trends, your interests, the number of likes or shares of a video.

The duets

A customer changes her hair colour? Whether it's radical or not, the change is enough to pique the interest of your audience. If you browse the platform you will see that many of your colleagues regularly publish colour changes, highlights and haircuts.

Tell the client in advance and ask for her agreement, ask a member of staff to help you if necessary and that's it!

Share a tip

TikTok is also THE platform for good tips and tricks. It must be said that many users also connect to it for this reason. To break through on TikTok and attract new customers, you will have to share your best tips.

If your tips are unknown to your audience, you will quickly see your subscriber numbers soar!
